Company Responsible For Largest Ever Data Leak May Shut Down

Remember CardSystems? The company that exposed the data on 40 million credit card holders using data they weren't supposed to collect or keep and which they apparently knew about long before they told everyone? Well, since all of this info came out, it seems like all the credit card companies who used them are terminating their relationships, leading Card Systems to start complaining that they might be forced to shut down. I imagine they won't get much sympathy from approximately 40 million credit card holders.

CardSystems may be worth more dead than alive.
On one hand, account holders may be able to have their records secure for a change.
Then, on the other hand...
Who might a dying CardSystems sell their pirated account data to
in order to get a quick, final infusion of cash?
