Microsoft's Self-Destructing DVDs Are So Destructive They Don't Even Exist

from the sorry-about-that dept

Earlier this week, we received a submission of a story about supposedly new self-destructing DVDs from Microsoft. At the time, we noted the long history of such failed projects and wondered why it would pop up again. The story got picked up widely, all based on that one original source. However, it appears that someone got tricked. It may have been the original reporter. It may have been me (if the original reporter knew it was false). It may have been lots of people But, the latest is that these Microsoft self-destructing DVDs don't appear to exist. That's probably for the best for just about everyone anyway.

  • About time

It's about time we have self-destructing DVDs. I tired of those self-destructing analog tapes they give me my missions on. And if I hear, "should you be caught, the secretary will disavow any knowledge of you" one more time, I'm outa here.

Ok - I am the one who submitted this story. I just picked it up from Macsurfer.com and had no idea regarding the veracity of the article. Well, I did it file it under stupidity!
