Does Cloning End Premature Aging?

from the mysteries-of-science dept

The answer doesn’t seem at all clear yet, mostly due to the low numbers used to measure lifespans. Although, one thing is totally clear to me (trust me I majored in molecular genetics), cloning will succeed and eventually if this premature aging issue really does exist scientists should easily be able to correct it. After all, you haven’t aged faster than your parents have you? I have a feeling it’s to do with the enzymes released during fertilisation that rebuild damaged DNA within the egg cell (the enzyme with which we should be able to use to prevent premature aging).
