Impressing Music Listeners Yet Again

from the silly-music-industry dept

Duffman writes "I can't believe this. I guess that the new Celine Dion CD will lock up your iMac. I guess there is a warning, but locking the drive shut, then locking up the computer so that it has to be sent for repairs? Does anyone else think that this is abusing fair use just a little bit?" We spoke about this last month, but this appears to be confirmation that it actually does crash your computer (if it's an iMac, apparently). New Scientist also has an article that has more info.

    Beware Celine

Maybe Apple was just unfortunate enough to sub the drive job out to Iomega. Lord knows I've had to resort to tools and prayer to get a few Zip drives to give up their contents....

I forgot about that article last month. I still think it's crazy.
