Build Your Own Planet In A Computer

Some researchers are working on ways to build model planets using a supercomputer to study what another habitable planet might look like. Sounds like an interesting project. To test the system out, they're going to first try to rebuild the local planets (Earth, Venus, Mars) and see if they come out properly. Then, they'll start experimenting. Of course, it would be more fun if this were a distributed computing project and everyone could play...

    if it were distributed computing, they would spend most of their time calculating mundane things like barometric gradients.
