Hurdles Remain In Hammering Out Online Tax Laws

A look at all the mind-numbing details that need to be worked out in order to create uniform tax laws in order to make it easier to tax online sales. The problem is that states have huge tax codes that differ in so many ways that standardizing them isn't such a simple task. For examples of some of the more ridiculous details that need to be settled the article asks: "Is a Twix bar candy or a cookie? Is dandruff shampoo a beauty aid or medical supply?" Of course, this still leaves out the question of whether or not internet transactions should be taxed at all, but that's another post for another day.
