China Blocks Wikipedia

from the because-education-is-bad dept

The Chinese internet censors are at it again. While past articles looking at China's often completely arbitrary internet censorship policies, it looks like the Chinese government is fed up with the idea that politically neutral content might be available online. They've now start blocking Wikipedia, the popular community-built online encyclopedia that is careful to enforce a policy that entries remain politically neutral. In fact, prior to this, the article claims that the Chinese Wikipedia site was used as an example of internet openness in China. Not any more.
