Let Your Clothes Make Some Noise
from the boombox-without-the-box dept
Ah, remember the days when some people thought it was cool to carry around a “boombox” and make a lot of noise? Well, perhaps the next generation will be able to do the same thing without having to carry a box. Weaving electronics into fabrics isn’t particularly new. For the past few years there have been stories about electronics woven into fabrics for a variety of purposes, from heating to screens to sensors. However, the latest effort is apparently a plan to turn your clothes into speakers. Most of the other ideas at least made some sort of sense, but it’s not at all clear where the demand is for clothing that broadcasts. Maybe it can work with those iPods they’re giving out at hotels.

Great, its bad enough that every 2 bit suburban gangsta wanna be jacks up his car speakers so you can hear his bad rap 3 miles away….now we’re gonna have morons walking down the street blasting their crap at everyone and screaming “free speech”.
Thanks for the cool idea, but no thanks.
