Microsoft Quietly Admits They'll Patch DRM Loophole

from the and-so-it-goes dept

Microsoft, who had earlier blamed users for falling victim to a scam that exploited a loophole in their copy protection technology, has apparently decided that maybe they should fix the problem, rather than telling people to "educate themselves." They quietly admitted today that they'll issue a patch -- though, they still claim it's really not their problem.

  • Where The Fault Lies

Wow, I can't believe Microsoft caved so easily. I mean, users choose to run Windows and IE and Media Player, the Microsoft warranty only accepts blame for the media the software is delivered on and users are the ones trying to access the media files (and DRM), so of course it must be the user's fault.
