AOL Email Leaker Allowed To Plead Guilty This Time

Back in December, we noted that the AOL employee who leaked the entire company's customer database to spammers tried to plead guilty, but the judge rejected the plea, saying he wasn't even sure if a crime had been committed. It appears the judge spent January catching up on the latest law books, and now agrees that, yes, a law has been broken, and, yes, the guy can plead guilty. He now faces a few years in jail and the prospect of paying a few hundred thousand dollars to AOL for the cost of cleaning up the mess he caused.
