Hacking The Wiretap System

from the record-this,-FBI dept

Worried about having your phone's being tapped by the FBI? Why not hack the phone tap? Some new research worked out ways to fool certain wiretap systems into turning off, while still leaving the phone in use. Of course, the hack only works on an older type of wiretap. While still in use, it may not be that common any more -- and, honestly, it's unlikely the folks tapping your phone are going to let you know what sort of tap they're using (or, of course, that they're even tapping the phone).

    FBI rarely taps phones

It's local and state police that do most of the tapping, and then "share" the intelligence with the FBI.

    Wiretaps

Im pretty sure you can find out the types of wiretaps used in your area under the freedom of information act.

    Though I could be wrong.
