European Court Tells Think Tanks To Take A Hike

As Microsoft is appealing their antitrust suit in Europe, they lined up the usual batch of "think tanks" to assist them. However, the "Court of First Instance" (great name, by the way) has told the think tanks to go loiter around someone else's courtroom. It appears the court in question views those think tanks as the corporate shills many folks believe they are, calling them "mere think tanks" whose point of view is well known, while noting that they should have no say in the case as they "are not active in any of the markets concerned." While some of these think tanks do generate some interesting ideas, the whole concept of think tanks has clearly been misused over the years to get paid opinions to support whatever you want. It's nice to see some judges recognizing this.
