Class-Action Adware Suit Against Intermix To Proceed

In addition to being the parent company of MySpace, Intermix has also cultivated a reputation for sneakily installing adware on people's computers -- something that both the company and its former CEO have been sued for, and paid fines to settle. Intermix is also the target of a class-action suit in California concerning its surreptitiously installed adware -- remember, it's not spyware -- and its preliminary effort to have the case thrown out has been rejected, so the case will go ahead. Intermix's rather quick turnabout to settle its case with the New York attorney general appeared to be explained by its subsequent acquisition by News Corp.. It's hard to imagine that News Corp. would want anything to do with installing adware on unsuspecting users' computers, but moving away from the slimy part of Intermix' past hasn't come up in Rupert Murdoch's strategy discussions.

Software installers...
There's a reason they made those installers for your files in windows systems. It's to make sure you don't see all the extra junk they give you for free. There are not many software packages out there that don't have something similiar imbedded in them and it is ridiculous and does need to stop.
