Japan's 3G War Of Words

Generally speaking, companies in an emerging, growing market, tend to focus their marketing efforts on helping to grow that market by building up consumer demand. It's when that market stops growing, that companies start attacking their competitors and trying to steal away marketshare, instead of creating new marketshare to gain. That said, it can't be a good sign that the heads of the big wireless carriers in Japan are trash talking with each other over who has a better 3G offering. Admittedly, DoCoMo's 3G offering has failed to excite users for a variety of reasons, but it still doesn't seem like the smartest strategic move for KDDI to trash DoCoMo (and J-Phone) so early on. Of course, DoCoMo felt the need to strike back and make their own comments about KDDI.
