UK 3 Still Believes It Will Hit Targets, Though It Seems Unlikely

Hutchison's 3G offering in the UK, 3, has been an ongoing case study in how not to launch a 3G system. However, they continue to move forward with the strategy of never admitting to a mistake. While they've already changed strategies a number of times, and sales are slowing down drastically, they still insist they'll hit their targets by the end of the year. Looking at the numbers, though, suggest that's going to be nearly impossible unless they have some trick up their sleeves to suddenly convince five times as many people who signed up since March to sign up for their service in the next few months.
