No Wireless At The RNC

Back before the Democratic National Convention, the story was that there would be no WiFi because it might interfere with TV signals. In the end, it turned out not to be true, as many who were there reported using the WiFi. However, at this week's Republican National Convention, it appears the IT staff made a decision early on: saying no wireless. The reason wasn't fear of interference, but that it was just too tricky to manage. Realizing the troubles that many places have keeping a wireless network working, they knew they would be overwhelmed by tech support requests from people who couldn't get on the wireless network.
