When I opened my store The Open Store (which was the first Linux brick and mortar store in the US. I was talking to RMS about it, he kept mentioning I should call it The Free Store. I was like, no, I don't want people thinking brand new computers were free. I was not in the best area of town, I knew that wouldn't play well.
They need to stop suing people that download. I took the blue line metro here in LA today and at least 3 people came by and asked if I wanted to buy dvd's of the new movies. Clear out the illegal immigrants that are selling pirated dvds then go on if you want.
Um without the Model T, Ford would have sunk, without the Taurus. it would have sunk too. Granted its not doing well now, but its they have been around for almost a 100 years. Almost all companies, Without Product X, they would have sunk. Bad argument.
Why does the gov't need to be involved on this? Its a private sector issue. Hell how much money will they waste talking about it, let alone doing anything about it. I hate when everyone wants the gov't to do everything for them. You want broadband in the middle of nowhere? Start a company, and do something about it yourself.
What drives me nuts is, I live in Koreatown area of LA. If I goto the corner of Vermont and Wilshire, There are tons of people who sell pirated movie and music. Are they ever sued? No. Hell People sell Pirated crap on Hollywood Blvd, and Highland. 20ft from the Chinese Theater.
I want to create an Open source voting machine project for a while. even once designed my own machine. Just haven't gone with it yet. anyone interested?
If you goto the corner of Wishire, and Vermont in Korea Town/Los Angeles, You can buy a copy of Spiderman 3 for $5. They have been selling it since 2 days before the movie came out.
Dude, thats old school. Whats coming out now is scary as hell. Php and Javascript Injections. ie using the webbrowser and code to break thru. so www.bankofamerica.com/followed by the script, will allow the attack to happen. very scary stuff. Google it.
Well I have noticed that most news around here has more news around the country than local. I want local. I have CNN for the US and BBC, AP, Reuters for the world.
I think I would see more movies in theater. I like to see them on DVD, but by the time I get to see it on DVD, I go, man I wish I saw that in theater. Like right now I reallly REALLY want to see Children of Men. Drives me nuts that in Europe I can order it on DVD, and here I can not.
