Kiosks For The Abused

from the interesting-idea,-but... dept

In London they’re setting up electronic kiosks for people who are in abusive relationships. The idea is that these people can easily get more information and help from these kiosks. At first, this sounded like a good idea to me, but the fact that these kiosks are in public places pretty much ruins that plan, doesn’t it? Who is going to go use one of these kiosks when they risk the chance of someone they know seeing them at one? Most victims of abuse have enough problems coming to grips with it, and I’m not sure they’re going to feel ready to just walk up to a public terminal.
